Vueling airlines have announced a new route, every Saturday starting from next November, linking Gran Canaria with the French city of Nantes; to be operated with Airbus A320 aircraft with capacity for 180 passengers.
The French market is one of the fastest growing over recent years and has increased from 35,800 registered tourists in 2011 to 89,400 in 2015, representing an improvement of 40%. The trend has continued in the first half of this year and Gran Canaria has received 49,000 French tourists, 17% more than over the same period in 2015.
Vueling have decided to strengthen their winter program with several routes that have so far only operated during the summer season and premiered this year, including international connections linking Gran Canaria to Amsterdam, Milan and Zurich.
During the first half of the year, Vueling has brought 143,000 passengers to Gran Canaria, 10% more than last year, and closes 2016 with 11 connections to Barcelona, Bilbao, Malaga, Seville, Corunna, Paris, Rome, Milan, Amsterdam, Zurich and Nantes
