The Canary Islands... A Place to Live

Tenerife

Located just 70 miles from the West African coast and 700 miles from the Iberian Peninsula, the Islands are one of the preferred tourist destinations of EU citizens (more than 12 million tourists a year), with temperatures between 16ºC and 25ºC all year round.

This allows its residents to enjoy an excellent standard of living in a luxurious environment as business is perfectly combined with the best leisure options.

The Canary Islands is the birthplace of celebrities such as the famous designer Manolo Blahnik, the actor Javier Bardem, the tenor Alfredo Kraus and the surrealist artist Oscar Domínguez. Its landscapes and people have inspired great playwrights like Shakespeare who already talked of the Islands in the 14th century, Agatha Christie who wrote two of her major novels “The Mystery of the Blue Train” and "The Mysterious Mr. Quinn” during her time in Tenerife and who while in Gran Canaria wrote the novel “The Thirteen Problems” in which she named many of the island’s villages, or the founder of surrealism Andre Breton who wrote “The Trip to Tenerife”.  Even today, film directors like Almodóvar have chosen the islands as the scene of their films and Arab sheiks blend in with some of Europe's aristocratic families while on their private holidays on the islands. It is also the home of great Olympic yacht competitors and everyone from members of the Royal House to major world champions have sailed its waters.
