Support for the Internationalization of the Canary Islands Business Community

As an interlocutor of the Government of the Canary Islands in programmes and actions undertaken in a coordinated manner with other bodies involved in internationalization (ICEX, Chambers of Commerce, Africa House, etc.), the main objective of PROEXCA is to promote the interests of the Canary Islands business community as a whole by establishing common criteria for Islands promotional organizations in this area.

PROEXCA attempts to drive the foreign vocation of Canary Islands businesses by providing them with knowledge, information and resources to become exporters of goods and services and so they may establish themselves in other markets. In this context, special attention is given to promoting the export of traditional Canary Islands products.

Moreover, special emphasis is placed on the African markets that surround us (Morocco, Mauritius, Senegal, Cape Verde and Ghana) so that the Canary Islands has a benchmark vocation in trade, technology and services; and in some Latin American countries (Panama, Dominican Republic, Mexico, etc.), accompanying Canary Islands businesses that are oriented towards these markets. It also seeks to establish companies in these countries as a more decisive step towards operating rather than just occasional exporting as well as the sale of technology and projects through calls for tender by international cooperation bodies.

In order to achieve these objectives, among others, the Government will consolidate the Canary Islands Offices Abroad network (PROEXCA and the Canary Islands Chambers of Commerce).
